About the Foodbank Network
Trussell supports communities and churches to open foodbanks across the UK.
Our food bank is part of Trussell’s community of more than 1,400 food bank locations, working to end hunger in our local communities, as well as across the UK.
The food bank network was founded in 2004 after four years of developing the original food bank based in Salisbury. Since then Trussell has helped communities work together to launch food banks nationwide in a wide range of towns and cities.
Food banks in the Trussell community distributed more than 2.6 million emergency food parcels in 2025. This is a 45% increase compared to 2019.
As a network, we want to see more people helped out of crisis and fewer people needing food banks in the future. That’s why Trussell and local food banks are working together to develop new ways to help people out of crisis.
