We are seeing that those who are using our service need more than food to move out of the situations they are in. The Trussell Trust, who we are part of, have been establishing projects under the guise of ‘More than Food’, ways and means to support people to move out of food poverty and become more sufficient and economically independent.
Part of our challenge over the coming months is to be able to provide local people with the skills and development that means they won’t need to use the foodbank in the future. However this creates other issues as we need to identify the changing needs, adapt and be ready to deliver.
Moving forward, there are plenty of hills to climb and people to feed but based on the previous 4 years it will be exciting and rewarding as we are able to support people to move out of food poverty.
