Sadly, we had a break-in

30th April 2020

Last week we were broken into at our foodbank depot in the very early hours of a morning. This was both sad and frustrating. Fortunately nothing was taken, there was just some mess made causing some damage needing to be repaired.

Now we have been able to move on we are sharing this, not for sympathy but to say a massive thank you to Epsom and Ewell Beat (Surrey Police)and to Verisure our alarm company, both of whom were exemplary in their response and support following the incident.

We don’t know why we were targeted but we want to say, if you need food then please contact us as we would rather give it to you than you steal it from us. If it was for any other reason then we are sorry that you chose to target us, especially at this time.

If you are a charity like us or an organisation running a similar service then please do check your security as it could have been a lot worse. We wouldn’t want this to happen to anyone at any time, let alone during lockdown.

Thanks again to the many of you that are supporting us at this time.
